Berenyi Inc. has launched the Teacher Love Staycation Sweepstakes, inviting students, parents, and the entire Charleston County community to nominate their favorite teacher and share their personal stories of gratitude and love for the role that teacher plays in their life, gifting that beloved teacher a chance to win a summer’s worth of Charleston adventures. One lucky teacher will win the opportunity to be an honored “tourist in their hometown” during the upcoming 2024 summer vacation season.
“Supporting classroom teachers is critical to the success of our students, and it is our collective duty as a community to show them the love and support they need as they cope with the daily challenges each student brings to the classroom. I commend Berenyi and their network of business partners supporting this program that shines a spotlight on our hometown heroes,” said Anita Huggins, Superintendent of Charleston County School District. “The excitement and energy surrounding this recognition program is contagious, and I look forward to acknowledging each nomination and celebrating one lucky winner’s opportunity to shine,” she added.
The Staycation Sweepstakes program was created as part of Berenyi’s ongoing commitment to education and supporting administrators and teachers in the critical work they do to build the next-gen workforce.
“Teachers may never know the impact they make on a particular student, but they leave impressions on young minds that stick with us for a lifetime,” said Jordan Behringer Berenyi’s managing partner, Lowcountry native and graduate of Charleston’s Academic Magnet School, where teachers motivated him to excel in a supportive learning environment. “The Teacher Love Sweepstakes was the result of a brainstorming discussion we were having about a Berenyi summer outing to recognize our team’s value, and we realized we also needed to share that important feeling of recognition with a very deserving audience – teachers,” he added.
Residents of Charleston County are encouraged to nominate a currently employed teacher working in the CCSD by filling out a simple nomination as seen below, which will prompt nominators to provide basic information as well as a brief description of why this teacher is so special and deserving of some Teacher Love. The nomination process commences on Monday, April 29 at 8am and will run through May 12 at 11:59pm.
The Sweepstake prize, valued at nearly $5000 will include two-nights hotel accommodations, a pampering spa treatment, downtown dining experiences, vouchers for many Charleston attractions, and more! The package will enable one lucky winner to experience the beauty and charm of Charleston throughout their 2024 summer vacation season, while allowing area businesses the opportunity to express gratitude for the value teachers bring to our community.
All teachers nominated will be entered into a raffle drawing and one name will be chosen at random to redeem their Staycation prize package. The winner will be announced on May 24, prior to the Memorial Day holiday weekend, officially marking the beginning of the Lowcountry’s summer tourist season.
